CARLOS MR (1979-) | Sin titulo (Without Title)  
This exhibition is the result of an investigation project about “portrait” made by the young artist from the city of Querétaro Carlos MR, which was conceived during his residence in Vastra, Goteland, Sweden. The show is composed of Painting and Photography. In this proposal, Carlos MR explores the presence of the human figure until its dissolution. The polyptychs on this exhibition consist of black and white pictures of a real shade of the models on a frame. These dark or clear images are handled of a subjective way, without the intention of the total representation of the model presence, as a result, is a total abstract sense. The pastel paintings break the unitarian visual sense in a very delicate form by dissolving the character. "Untitled" (red paintings) are pastel paintings that apparently are abstract but that in fact they are photorealistic. Based on human figure photographs that were taken to the maximum abstraction by photographic close-up and using different type of lighting that distorts the image and the color.  The style that Carlos MR develops in his pastel paintings that conform this exhibition is an exercise that combines the figurative and the abstract, influenced clearly by artists like Gerhard Richter, Mark Rothko, Ad Reinhardt and Frank Stella.

One should play to confront the logical
Because swimming in this fantasy everything became paradoxical…

Body without title
Trascendental without Limb
It looks like without rythm…

… Your fire burns any liquid
Evaporates the soul of anyone
Nevertheless, your heat makes resist the pain
And there is not one who by you the life would not given up…
